Curley’s Hauser Junction ~ Hauser

If you love to Rock out and dance until you drop then Curley’s Hauser Junction is the place for you! My wife and I had a fantastic time on Saturday night! The live Rock n’ Roll music and super friendly staff made for a night we will not soon forget.

Curley’s is located at 26433 West Highway 53 in Hauser, Idaho and they were hosting their annual luau theme weekend. Amy and I were on our way home from a Broadway production in Spokane, when we decided to stop in and check it out.  Wow what a big place. The bar is built on two acres of land, they have a very large outdoor area with a basketball hoop, volleyball court, outdoor stage and frontier museum. They also have a large parking lot and I pleased to find plenty of spaces when we arrived.

When Amy and I entered it was about 11pm. We presented our IDs to security as I noticed a live band was playing on the stage. I asked how much it would be for the cover charge. Imagine how pleasantly surprised I was when told they did not have a cover charge. The inside entertainment area includes pool tables, dart boards, a dance floor, music stage and two very friendly barmaids. If that’s not cool enough for some then certainly the full sized authentic dining railway car, or giant treasure chest fish tank will be.

At the bar I found a list of reasonably priced drink specials. I ordered two Surfing Eskimo’s from the list - a shaken combination of Blue Curacao, Malibu Rum, Midori, lime juice and pineapple. Looking at the menu I saw one of my personal all-time favorites, fish and fries. The Curley’s fish n’ chips basket included four midsized pieces of fish, fries, tartar sauce, lemons and is served with an Alaskan Amber beer.  It was delicious, and reasonably priced for the portions. Definitely a must when you visit.

The band Suckerpunch was on stage leading the festivities and entertaining the patrons. Music enthusiasts continually filled the floor and danced to each song. Amy and I were compelled to dance again and again because of the great song selections played the band. Games were obviously a big part of the luau event and included prizes like a pitcher of jello shots. A hula hoop contest, chicken dance dance-off and best dressed contest all made for great fun and happy patrons.

Curley’s has become one of my favorite places to take my wife on a Friday or Saturday night. The Rock n Roll music, friendly staff, great food, reasonably priced drinks, and dance floor area rockets Curley’s to the top of my list. So now you, “Know before you go!”
